I recently installed a 881xp in my '99 Yukon and used a 555L for the passlock II, and now I'm stumped. The alarm works and the truck will start with the key, but when I hit the remote start button nothing happens. I believe the problem is with the 4 wires on the relay satellite that I only have 1 attached: Blue/ attached to 555L ORANGE / ? PURPLE / ? Pink/? Also if you do not have the anti grind relay do you need to hook up the green wire and cut the starter wire? Any other ideas? I used to be a part time mechanic and thought I could figure this thing out....I guess not...

You did hook up the purple wire to the starter wire, correct?

Try performing shutdown diagnostics. (Ign off. Press and hold valet button. Ign back on. Release valet. Press and release valet button. Count number of LED flashes. Refer to manual.) I'll bet it's going to be 6 or 7 flashes, and you're going to have to review your wiring of the neutral safety and hood-pin (shutdown) switches...

you were correct in that I got a 7 code wihich is the neutral safety switch. I've tried re grounding it, but I still get the same code and it still won't start. As for the purple wire is that the large gauge to the starter, then yes thats hooked up, the small gauge one from the satellite relay is not the only one is the blue to the 555l. Thanks for your help

For some reason, the 881XP is not seeing ground on that input H3/5 BLACK/ white. Note there are two BLACK/ white wires-- one is for dome light (on the main harness), the one we want is on the remote 5 pin remote start harness. Triple-check this. You tried regrounding-- is it grounded the same place everything else is? If not, make sure it shares the same ground. Is it possible the harness is loose? Check all that stuff, and if it's still not working, then you may have a bad brain. (Probably just a cold solder joint on the board...)

Once you get this working, I strongly recommend putting the switch in series so that when people work on your car you have an easy way to guarantee no remote starts.

Thank you so much for your Help, I figured out that the connector into the brain was all the way in, but the black white wire was out just enough that it wasn't making the connection. Once again I'm glad that there are people like you out there with the patience and the know how to help the rest of us.
