I have a two alarm / remote starter everything is hooked up and working fine except the the remote starter will try and start the car but if it fails to start the remote shows that it started and never retry's to start it and sometimes it just clicks and the remote shows that it is started. I have hooked the tach wire to every wire coming off the dist. cap with the same results. Please help it is on a '91Camaro.

try inserting the key into the ignition barrel ( make sure that you disconnect the status wire from the universal bypass module ) and see if this starts the car with the remote control. Post your results.

I got a Pheonix Digital PD-175 and it starts with the key out of it it is just when it trys to start it the first time if it fails it still registers (on the remote) like it started so it will not try again. Every once in a while when you activate the remote start the starter just clicks, the remote reads that it started and it does no more. I will try the coil like you stated and will see if that helps.

I got a 90 firebird, i went directly to the coil, and used a bosch relay and resistor for the VATS bypass. Does the car even crank? what about the neutral safety wire was that hooked up?

What color is the tach wire on the alarm. I am looking at mine but don't see the tack wire. I have the same exact model.
