Some remote start alarm have the disarm/ arm wire output to disarm/arm the factory alarm. But I just want to know the working orders. Such as, before cranking, disarm, after starting, rearm....etc. auex]S wrote:

How about a specific alarm? Also your original post said nothing about remote start.
A remote start will "generally" send a disarm pulse before it powers the ignition. It will also send a rearm pulse after the remote start times out.

Thanks. So nothing happend between canking and start times out? I check compustar's manual that it says rearm 1 pulse after starter, what does it mean? auex]H wrote:

Generally the disarm pulses right before the car remote starts and when you hit the unlock button. The arm will either pulse right after the car remote starts or right after the remote starter is shut down and when you hit the lock button.

If the rearm sends signal to OEM Alarm between remote starting and shutting down, the factory alarm should go off. Because the factory alarm might detect the KEY ON. fbird08 wrote:

That is true ivanca but this guy just wanted to know what the wires do. Some remote starters can be programed to lock the doors right after startup because in some cars the doors unlock when you disarm the factory alarm. The factory arm wire is used to relock the doors. ------------- Money is just paper
