Brought my 05 taco Double Cab in to get a Clifford Matrix 3.5 (w/ starter engine) installed today.

They said for the 05 Taco's I need a Transponder Bypass.

Can someone please confirm? They want to charge me $35 bucks for it.

As to the best of my knowledge, 04 and under Tacos dont require a bypass.... so I didnt think 05's needed one. I guess I was wrong... Well either I was wrong of I got ripped off $35 bucks.

Can you start your vehicle with a plain metal key???
