I'm trying to hook up the rear defrost to the 3rd channel output. I found the wire ( BROWN / YELLOW ) behind the switch. The wire shows 12volts and when switched on it shows ground. I sent a ground to the wire and nothing. I used a relay and the same. Has anyone hooked up this feature before that can help?

You may need a constant output. if your starter doesn't have that option, you can buy a latching relay. You can also make your own latching relay with a bunch of regular relays and a diode but thats a whole lot a work and a big mess of wires.

You could also use a single relay to create a negative ignition output so the defrost would always be on when the remote starter was on. Then for the summer or whenever you didn't want the defrost on all the time, you could put a switch inline with the trigger of that relay so you could disable the relay.

Sorry I just realized that you did not specify whether you used a pulsed or a constant output and I assume you were just pulsing it. If you have already tried a constant output, then maybe try a pulsed output. If that doesn't work then ask someone else. posted_image
