I am looking to purchase a remote starter for my 2003 Saturn L200 sedan.  I would like keyless entry, door lock/trunk, keep the factory alarm/anti-theft.  Nothing fancy, like 2 way.  Can I get  a descent one, relatively easy to install, for a hundred or less? I will also need a anti-theft bypass, preferrably one that "learns" not dips.  I was looking at the bulldog 1200e but from what I get from this forum they are pretty lousy.  Any input from the professional installers would be appreciated.

The Compustar 1WAM-S is the ones that we usually install into our customer's vehicles that don't want all the bells and whistles. The PLXR is a good bypass module as well to bypass the Saturn without the DIPS and no key required either.

Bump for another of the Compustar 1wams. Maybe we Canadians know a thing or two about remote starts, do ya think?

or of course any of the "entry level" DEI products ( Valet 561, Avital 4100, etc.) since you are obviously trying to do this on a budget......at least 100 bucks or less up here sure doesnt get you into any kind of quality brands....

with the little you seem to want to spend,  Wal Mart may end up being your answer.... just remember when considering the glorious Bulldog line, you get what you pay for........

I know Bulldog does not have the best reputation on this forum. I have put in about a dozen of them in different vehicles and so far none have complained of any problems. If you are on a limited budget and only need it to have a warm car in the morning why spend a lot of money for bells & whistles you will not use?

That's why the 1WAM-S is such a good deal. It's practical without all the bells and whistles, but the necessary wires are available for almost any vehicle. Think to yourself when your 200 feet away from your car and you have to walk up to it in -30 degree weather to start it. You'll be glad that you spent the extra $ 40.00 for the difference from a $ 60 Bulldog to a $ 100 Compustar.
