I just wanted to know if anyone can help.  I want to install a remote start and keyless entry on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, I want to disable to the factory alarm but as a newbie to installs not really sure how.  Any help would be great.

FACTORY ALARM DISARM------------- lt. green           | - |           drivers door module. The drivers door module is located above the speaker in the drivers door.

do you have a wire diagram for that vehicle? That should be your first step.

But if you are interested, the keyless entry module is in the drivers door so you get to run wires into the door on your first starter install. Congratulations.

The disarm wire is lt.green and it is negative.
In order to rearm the factory alarm you need to pulse the drivers door trigger at the same time as you lock the doors. This wire is Tan and it is right next to the diarm wire in the blue plug at the keyless entry module in the drivers door.

Lock and Unlock are also in the door so i show you need to run 4 wires through the boot and into the door. If you can get one wire through first, then solder 4 or 5 wires onto the end of that and pull them through. I always pull an extra wire through in case I want to add something else like a window module.

Just in cae you are cutious about the rearming bit i mentioned above, if you are curious how it works: The factory alarm will only arm via an aftermarket keyless entry unit if the drivers door is open, and since you rarely ever arm your vehicle with the door open but rather as you are walking away from the vehicle, you need to pulse the door trigger at the same time as lock wire. This works most of the time. AtroStart units have a rearming feature that allows you arm easier than this, but I have made it work on other units by splitting the lock wire, putting 2 diodes on each wire then connecting one to lock and the other to the door trigger. You need to use relays though.
