I installed a battery backup in my truck a while ago and misplaced the wiring sheet after I was done. I recently realized that disconnecting my battery does not set off my alarm as I thought it would. My alarm still goes off if a door trigger or something else sets it off, even with the battery disconnected so I know the battery works. I'm thinking I wired the blue wire wrong or something. Anyway, can anyone tell me the wiring diagram for the thing so I can re check all the wires and see where I went wrong. Thanks

The blue wire from the backup battery box should go to the -instant trigger wire for the alarm. The box should have 4 wires(not including the plug for the battery), red goes to power, black to ground, blue to -instant trigger, and the other wire(don't remember the color) goes to the power wire of the alarm. Also I can't find the install manual or I would have posted a link.

OK, so if I wanted to hook this up to something that wasn't an alarm.... i'd hook up the red and black to the car's 12v and ground respectively, the grey wire to whatever I'm backing up's power (the ground of what is to be backed up would simply go to a ground). But where would the blue go? what exactly is it's function when hooked up to the -instant trigger? It sounds as though that's the wire that would set the alarm off if the battery is disconnected. So if it isn't hooked up to an alarm where would that blue wire go?

I didn't think that I stuttered. It is like a door trigger wire for the alarm, but is meant for additional sensors and triggers.
