I have hooked up my alarm's light-flash-output to the parking lights wire as instructed. Brown wire I think.

Every time my lights flash, my buzzer sounds (since the key is not in the ignition). Is this normal? Is there a way to prevent it besides removing the buzzer?

try it with the door closed, you may have the wrong wire....go to the light switch itself and test it with a test light or a multimeter.

Or you could just use your Hazard lights instead.

Thanks for the replies.

Door open/closed makes no difference. I literally tapped onto the wire right behind the light switch. The truck thinks I left my parking lights on when the truck is not running, so it buzzes. For locked it flashes the lights once (short buzz). For unlocked it flashes the lights twice (buzz buzz)

Its something I could live with, I just figured there may be an easy solution I'm not thinking of. Is it typical for alarms to behave that way?

Where is a good place to tap onto the hazard lights? Will it flash the same or will the hazard-delay mess up the flash?

The condition is normal and won't cause any harm. Leave your system hooked up to the brown wire.

You could put the buzzer on a relay so that the buzzer is normally connected, but disconnects when the alarm triggers the lights.
