When installing my remote start/alarm for my accord, I have come across the problem of having all the ignition and everything hooked up, but the remote start only starts and continues to run by remote when the key is in the ignition and turned to the first click. Does anyone know where the wire is to bypass the key? or what am I doing wrong?

That vehicle has what is called a transponder based anti-theft system. There is basically a chip in the head of the key that transmits a signal to a computer in the car via a coil that is installed around the key cylinder. You need a bypass kit to make the remote start work, or you could just leave the key in the ignition posted_image

Checkout bypasskit.com and enter your vehicle and see what your options are.

Ok I went to look since i was curious what they had avaiable for that year accord.

I recommend the PKH2 (transponder bypass kit that does not require you to install an additional coil around the cylinder, or require you to place an additional programmed ignition key in a little bow under the dash like the universal bypass kits do.)

I also recommend the HODL doorlock interface that lets you hook up the door locks trunk, horn, arm and disarm very easily.
