Wiring up those extra auxilliary remote start channels is easy, if it's a quick trunk pop, but what about a switch you want to stay "on" for at least 2-3 minutes............like a rear defrost?

So I google "timed relays" and all I can find are big clunky things costing about Eighty $macker$!

Doesn't Bosch (or someone) make a basic small, simple automotive timed relay for at least under twenty clams?

For eighty bucks, I can hire someone to start my car and scrape my windows.

For about 25 bucks you should be able to find a DEI pulse timer relay which will give you up to 90 seconds on with a single pulse from your r/s, part number 528t.

If it's a rear defroster you want to hook up, you should be able to do it without resorting to a timed relay. If you hook up a simple relay in parallel to the defroster switch, the defroster should stay on for its usual cycle. Some remote starters have outputs which are active for a few seconds after start, which is long enough to "press" the defroster button with a relay.
