hey guys,

i'm doing a remote start on an f150 on sunday will be using a viper 160xv remote start unit. After checking out the wiring diagrams i need a 2nd acces and 3rd ignition output thats pos but the unit puts out negative.. just use a relay to swap voltages correct? i mean tech i could ignore the 2nd acces unless it controlls like defroster and such right? also it says that to arm the factory alarm, i need to send a negative trigger to the wire.. will the factor rearm wire on the unit work fine for this?

Yeah, use a relays off of the negative third ign wire. Oh by the way you are going to be switching polarities not voltage. The second acc is black green you do not have to power it up. If you want the radio to work when remote started you do have to power it up.

polarity is related to the value or type of voltage on a wire....- or +

i know what polarity is.. my posts have to be quick when i'm at work so i just type without thinking alot.. hense my comment on the disarm.. i ment to say re-arm.. directwire says - "Arms when locked with the door open. To simulate, send a negative trigger to the lt. blue/white wire at the RAP module, located behind the light switch, while locking." does that mean i can just use the rearm wire on the unit or do i need to set up a relay and do it with the lock wire?
