It's a 1987 no anti theft system. no chip in the key,
I just cranks for 2 sec and needs to crank a little longer to start the car.

you need to locate the brain, there should be a little door on the top that slides open to reveal 4 dipswitches. Turn #3 OFF to increase crank time.

I have heard that you need to remove power from the unit for the change to take effect. This may or may not be the case. it cant hurt to unplug it though to be sure. You can just unplug the 2 red wires and also disconnect the 10 pin connector then flip th dipswitch and then plug the wires back in.

well thats different than what i thought, but the remote is exactly the same as what I have seen. It looks there are 4 dipswitches though. One is Tach/Tachless, one is vacuum/hoodpin, one is normal crank/extended crank, and one is diesel/non diesel
