After I installed a rs in my car, my dad wants one in his work van(96 windstar). It doesn't have keyless entry or trunk so I just need a plain jane remote starter without all the goodies. I did a few searches but didn't come up with anything. Any suggestions?

We use the 1WAM-S system from Compustar. It's reliable, great quality & good range. Also has optional installer features for future upgrades such as keyless entry, trunk release and AUX channel. The price is great for this system as well.

I suggest staying away from things like Bulldog that walmart sells and things of that nature. For basic remote starts I usually use the nordic start 1014 or the viper 120hv or 125 xv all are pretty good starters and are avalible, not installed for around 80-100 canadian

Crimestopper RS900, i have one installed on a 92 f-250 4x4 that has power nothing i just have the remote starter hooked up and has worked great for years and they have the best 800 support in my opinion, range is the same if not better than some FM models

so the Compustar 1wam-s has no keyless entry feature just the remote start?

Like most units these days it has keyless entry included. If your dad wants to add keyless entry at any point in time it is easy to do (Xmas present maybe).
