hello, I recently got a hold of the factory service manual for the 2004 wrx

i was looking around for some posts about the location of the neutral switch in the 04 wrx but could not find it so here it is

it is Pin 21 on the ecm connector B136
when in gear it is at ground, in neutral it's 12 volts

I've posted this info here a few times. I have done my WRX as well as a few customers at my work. The wire is GREEN/ black and is located at the top plug of the ECM. The ECM is below the passenger side floorboard.

On 02-04 models the wire shows ground in gear, and +12v in neutral. In 2005, they switched it. Now its ground in gear, +12v in gear. Still GREEN/ black. I actually just did an 05 WRX Sti last week.

On 02-04 models, hook it up to the hood pin input. On 05's, I tap into the brake input on the remote start. Diode isolated of course.
