okay...I'm installing a crime stopper cs-2011rs in a 99 Nissan Sentra and I'm having trouble finding the right tach hook up...I have 2 wire diagrams and both say the location of the black coil is in the instrument panel and one says the wire is green and the one on this web site says the wire is GREEN/ YELLOW well...I didn't find the coil and the wires around the ecm I found a green wire, but it doesn't work....so I was wondering if anyone could help me find the correct tach hook up..please

just go to one of the injectors to the odd color and that should work the same as tach.

listen your ingintion coil is actually the disrtibuter cap you know the part where all the sparkplug wire plug in to from each sparkplug. that is where it is usually located.

TachGreen (AC) Distributor or Blue/Orange Position 3 Center Console

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

hey thanks I think I have the tach problem solved, but I believe I am not hooking the parking lights up right either....can wire printout says the RED / blue wire at the top of the fuse box....since I am not having luck with that can it be found running from the headlight switch on the steering column....and also a ? about the DMM (mulitimeter)..I know you set it on on DCV, but what #...200, 2, 20...thanks.....I ran the tach for the blue/orange wire by the way

What you need to do is hook up the parking lights wire to the RED / blue wire at the parking light switch. The DMM should be set 20 that shows the max volts the meter will read.

ookay I have the RED / blue wire hooked up where the parking light switch is so I know I have that hooked up for sure....and I have the wire for the tach hooked up directly to the instrument cluster going to the speedometer..all that junk...I've tried both the blue/orange wire right there and the green wire and a GREEN/ YELLOW wire...but when I start the car and push and hold the valet switch for a few seconds the parking lights are not flashing to let me know I am hooked up to a valid tach source..am I still doing something wrong about the tachometer? by the way my siren keeps going off and I can't seem to fix that and the wires are not crossed or mixed up....I'm starting to go crazy

I have the blue/orange tach wire needs to be hooked up at the (ECM) Engine Control Module which is located behind the center console.
