I need help!
I just installed a Prestige APS-686 Remote Start in this car. Everything works perfect, except when I remotely start it & then put the key in the ignition, the starter grinds in the #1 position. After I go beyond the #1 position, it's OK. I can't figure it out. Does anyone know what's going on?

on your starter kill switch, where are your 85 and 86 connections hooked up to, also you may need to add a diode to the sarter kill.

Thanks for responding. There is no starter kill. It's a Remote Start only. Honestly, I suspect a slight problem w/vehicles ignition switch.
I know that it doesn't have anything to do with the vehicle's starter wires, cause it still grinds with them totally disconnected from remote start(after I remotely start it)

Put a starter disable relay and this will solve the problem.

Thanks Velocity Motors. Can you tell me how to wire that in? And is that the same circuit if you wanted someone to prevent grinding the starter under normal conditions, with a remote start? In case they went too far with the key.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. Here's a diagram for a typical starter disable: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/010.jpg

This relay will de-activate after you press the brake pedal so the start will not grind after the first position on the ignition barrel.
