Ok, this might be a funny question, but i baught a haynes repair manual and there is nothing about the security system. I want to find the wire for the factory hood pin, becuase i'm installing my remote start system and i don't want to install another hood pin. Haynes should put it in there, considering, what if the security moudle went. Ok anyways, it says that when i wire up the factory security system to my RM/KE (remote start/keyless entry system) when i hit the lock button on my remote it will activate the security system, but i don't understand beucase the would be the same as me hittin the lock button if i was inside, would it not? And, what color and where is the facotry hood poin wire so i can solder my required wire to it? THanks Oh yes, 1991 Jeep Cherokee Limted 4.0L HO

Go directly to the hood pin, if there is one, it should be a pin switch with a rubber boot that will press down when the hood is closed. You can also try looking in the passenger's kickpanel for a BROWN / tan wire.

when you hit the lock button on th rske it sends whatever signal is needed to arm your factory alarm when you remote start this it disarms your oem alarm and allows for the starting of your jeep... I think that answers your question...
BTW test your factory hood pin to make sure it is a ground closure...

good luck
