hey guys...more trouble again...

i hooked up my alarm over break...got the alarm to work, shock sensor works, door trigger, hood trigger, trunk trigger, door lock, unlock, all seems to work just fine...

then  the stupid remote start doesn't seem to want to work...this is a aps996a by the way...i tried to program the tach by doing what the manual said, the lights are suppose to start blinking when it learns the tach, it doesn' t blink forever!!!

i started to get piss and tried to mess around with the program button...i don't know what i did but i think i screwed things up even more...so my two problems are:

1.) HOW do i get the alarm to completely reset so it will undue what i did to screw everything up? The door locks don't work no more, the triggers don't work anymore so right now i just unplugged it...i really would like to know if there is anyway to just reset the daym thing so it can undue the stupid mistake i did by messing with the programming..

2.) HOW do i get the remote start to learn the tach signal? I wired it to the blue wire on the distributor...i tested it...it tests positive when the car is on, negative when the car is off...i even tested the wire going straight to the alarm head to see if it was getting a signal when the car was starting..it does...

I tried to program the thing by doing what the bok said...I turn the key on, press the botton 3 times, hear two small beeps and one big one when i turn the car back to off, hold on to the botton, turn the car on and its suppose to learn it...

is there anything else i'm missing or could i have messed up a wiring else where?

thanks in advance

1. Not sure on that model. Read the installation manual and there will be a way to reset all functions to default parameters through programming.

2. You have the wrong BLUE wire. In most cases there are 2 blue wires at the distributor. To grab the right one, the wire you have must be tested in AC with the red lead to 12 volt + and the BLACK lead to the BLUE wire. The meter will read anywhere from 1.5 - 6 volts and will fluctuate as your pull on the throttle cable above the manifold.

thank you, i will try that...the only problem is that there was only ONE blue wire...i will test all the wires though...if not then i may have to try a injector wire...

will the injector wire give the same reading?

thanks again posted_image

Yes, the injector will suffice for the remote start tach signal.
