I have a clifford intelliguard 6000.  About a year ago it started acting funny  so I just started using the factory alarm.

This morning I went out to start the car and it wouldn't start (engine doesn't turn over, just get a click).  Here's what I know.  Battery is testing at 12.6V (w/ ign on and off) . With the ignition on I have all my lights (interior/exterior)  However, with the igition on my gas gauge and voltmeter on the dash don't move (they noramally do w/ the igntion on) Tank is full of gas.  I disconnected the negative batt cable and noticed that the alarm did not chirp as it normally does when I disconnect the cable. It also did not chirp when i re-connected the cable.  The truck would start or crank over when i tried to jump start it either.

Aside from a possible  dead alternator/starter, can a dead alarm end up disabling my starter so the truck won't start?  Trying to eliminate as many possibilities so I can figure out if it needs to get  towned to the dealer or to a car alarm shop

got it. Girlfriend accidentally grabbed the fuseable link off the battery and the alarm chirped. A new connection and it started right up
