I'll be installing this unit into my 98 Mercury Sable this spring.

I'm wondering what is the best/most common spot people choose to mount the LED and valet switch in this car?  It's basically a ford taurus.  I can't seem to find any decent surfaces to mount the LED, everything is curved and there are not many flat surfaces on dash ( a few possiblities, but not many).

Also, I've never seen a remote start work before.  So if I were to remote start the car in the morning or something, I would have to unlock the doors and then put the key into the ignition and turn it to ON.  Even though it is already running?

Please forgive me for asking these questions, I'm a newbie to remote starts, Thanks!

Yes to the remote start question.   You'll want to place the led in a location easily seen from outside the car.   How about the cover over the steering column for the led?

Ok , cool.  If there is enough clearance underneath I will try the column cover.
