I hope someone can help me because I am about to go crazy. I am looking for the "Wait to start" wire in this truck. Can sombody please help. Where is it found and what color is it. I've read all the post here but none are for 2005. Thanks in advance.  Larry

wait to start interface

most newer trucks you cant interface directly with a "wait to start wire" anymore, this is a quick fix for your problem with a $20 part and 5 minutes of wiring.
or if your using a remote starter that you can program for diesel mode then you dont even have to worry about the wait to start wire B.S.

I had to add a $20 timer/relay that DEI makes and it works perfect.  It's adjustable for a delayed crank up to 90secs .  I started mine for a few weeks without it, but it wasn't very cold yet.

That picture MXXMIKEXX posted is exactly what I used.  It didnt come with a perfect wiring diagram like that though.  The directions I got didnt even mention using it for a wait to start application.

FYI, MXXMikexx is exactly correct. I just went through this on my 04.5 2500. There is no wire. just use the delay timer. Your remote start doesnt have one built in?

truck will start down to -20 with no wait to start.
I used a 10 second delay however.

Thanks for all the info guys. I connected the "wait to start" wire up to the Acc. wire and now it delays for about 15 sec.  Thanks again.
