I have just bought a 94 Safari and it has a command start 2400/2500. It was working all fine till the kids decided the remote made neat noises while pushing the buttons. Now when the van starts the heater fan will not come on, some times it does other times it doesn't. I do not have the manual and would like to know if they screwed up the programming on the remote.

Sorry about htis guys I see you have answered many ??'s about the command start

hi shouldn't have been able to reprogram unless they also played with hood switch at same time and got it into programing mode very unlikely probably coincidence does problem  occur only when r/s

I was checking the hood switch to try and reset the system. I found it was not even hooked up. Would this cause some problems? The switch dosen't seem to be working that great, as there is a bad conection. I will get that fixed and see if that will fix anything.

The hood switch is only for programming and safety. Your problem is likely due to a bad connection to the orange heater circuit or the remote starter is defective. Check the connections throughout for problems. Playing with the remote could not cause the problem if the van still starts with the remote. You should replace the hood switch as they tend to corrode within a year in Canada. You can get them at Canadian Tire or most shops that do starters.
