My daughter has purchased a remote start and keyless entry and asked instructed me to install it for her.
Everything went fine until I got to the parking light flash.
The installation manual told me to purchase a relay do to the fact that the parking lights were on a positive circuit.
The remote start manufacurer couldn't help with it.
I need some assistance with the installation of the relay so when the remote start activates, or the locks energize the system will flash.
Any help??
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. It worked.

Now the door locks initiate when I turn the key on. It didn't do that before the unit was installed. Anything to worry??

That's a feature of your alarm. It's probably programmable, but personally, I like it.

You can probably also program them to unlock when you turn off the ignition-- another feature that I like.

Yes, its is o.k. However, this morning I remote started the car, then got in and thought of something I left in the house, without thinking I left the keys in the ignition and shut the door, it automatically locked the door after it shut with the keys in the ignition. Locking me out. Luckily I had another set in the house.

Just wandering. Thanks for your input.

Also, On this car there is a feature to remote trunk unlock. There is a single wire called a channel 2 wire that it it used for things like that. My question is: The car has a positive circuit, do I have to get a relay to hook it up or just tie into the single wire going to the trunk switch?

You almost certainly have to use a relay, and you might have to cut that wire, depending on whether it rests at ground or not...

O.K.  I think it rests at ground, I will check it when I get home.

If it rests at ground, would the link listed above be the diagram to hook up this circuit?

Maybe the Illuminated light circuit with a positive door triggers?

I could swear I answered this before. Oh well.. here goes again.

If it does rest w/in a couple ohms of ground and goes to 12V when you press the button and the trunk pops, do this:

Cut the trunk release wire. Pins 85 & 87 to 12V. Pin 86 to your channel 2 output. Pin 30 to trunk side of cut wire. Pin 87a to switch side...

Or, for extra security, leave 87a not hooked up and you can only pop the trunk w/ the remote. (I.e., random people in your car can't do it).
