battery drain, starter kill?

I installed a keyless entry unit with a starter kill in my car over the summer and i had no problems with it. now that i am away from home at school, my car tends to sit, and if it sits for a week or so it wont start. I read that the starter kill could be drawing a qtr amp from the battery, and this could cause the drain. When i wired it up i used a relay and the diagram on this site(Relay Diagram,) but i didnt notice the diode. If i put in a diode would it stop the relay from drawing from the battery as much as it is? And also, what type would i use and how would i wire it up? Im using Bosch 30A SPDT with the socket harness (to make it easier to wire,) should i just buy the socket with the pre-wired diode if i can find one? The problem that i see with that is there are only 3 wires that would be running off the relay, and according to the diagram, 4 connections are needed.

If the coil is wired to ground when armed and ignition then the relay isn't the problem. There are some situations when coil is wired to ground when armed and constant power, that will cause the battery to drain slowly.

Ok, i read everything over and looked at the diagram once more, and i think i have my 12v source wired to a constant source, and instead i need to wire it to an accessory source instead, am i correct? And would i still need to wire the diode in?

Not an accessory, an IGNITION (there is a difference). Make sure it is off in the key's off position, ON in the run position, and ON in the start positon.
