Is it possible to use door lock actuator for turnk release?

My Nissan 240SX has cable pull for trunk release, which hits the locking mechanism and unlocks it.

It does not seem to require too much force and I thought maybe I could use door lock actuator since it is cheaper.

What do you guys think?
