Installed an Omega RS-7K2 on a 2001 Grand Voyager last year. It has worked fine until now. Now, it will flash just once, and not make any attempt to start the car. Even if I put the key in the ignition, and turn it to the "on" postion, it will not start. It is not making the 3 attempts that it should. One quick flash and then nothing. I have checked, and it is not in the valet mode.
I tried the re-programming steps thinking the remote is not in sync, but the unit does acknowledge the remote. Ideas?

Do you have a shutdown diagnostiocs, if so, what does it say. Does the RS try to start but the started never engages.
Or Rs wont activate at all.

Nothing in the manual about any "shutdown diagnosis". No, the unit does not make any attempt to start the car. usually it will make 3 tries to start the car, but now it does one brief flash of the lights and thats it. On another car I installed one on, when I had a problem with the alarm bypass it would come on, light all the lights in the dash, and attempt three times without starting. On this car, all I get is one quick flash. And again, it has functioned flawlessly for 1 year and no changes to the car.

Is the hood pin grounding out?
Is there a switch connection that's not connected (either to ground-- possibly called neutral safety).
Are the brake lights on?
Is this installed in a car w/ a manual transmission? If so, might be a problem w/ door pin...

You know I checked the hood pin to see if it was moving freely, but I didn't check to see if it was grounding out. Possibly a piece of the insulating plastic broke off? I will check that. Brake lights are not on (assuming you are referring to a bad brake light switch right?). Nope, it is installed in a Chrysler mini-van. Automatic transmission. I'll check the pin but any other suggestions in the mean time are welcome!

Not only could the pin itself be bad, but the wire could be too tight around a piece of metal (for instance, where it goes through the firewall) and become stripped...

Use a DMM and check all voltages at the IGN wires from the RS unit and at the starter output.
