i installed a la-z-start rs to my viper 350hv but hardly used it until now that it got kind of cold in the mornings.what i noticed is that when the engine is cold the rs will only run for about 4-5 minutes and not until the programmed 15. but after a few minutes of driving around once the engine is warmed up the rs runs its full 15 minutes then shuts down like it supposed to.any thoughts on why.i have a 1988 chevy silverado v8.

Sit in the car one cold morning when you remote start it, and keep an eye on the voltage and RPMs. If either dip kind of low, that is probably the reason.
If the alarm is set up for tach sensing, it'll be from the RPMs. If the alarm is set up for voltage sensing, it could be either from low RPMs (= low alternator output), or from alternator issues...
Either way, it may be time for a tuneup...

my guess was also rpms since you can hear the engine reving some what so that the engine wont cut off. but thats only a couple of rpms in difference.

Also, try reprogramming tach that same cold morning-- if it thinks a wider range of RPMs are "normal", it won't shutdown when it sees them...

it only has two settings, dip switches, on for shut off at 4000 rpms, which is the one i have it on and off to reduce the overspeed shut off.
