I know this may sound weird, but i really like the factory siren that the newer lexus/toyotas have. It is a low tone chirp, you have definitly heard it if you worked or own a newer car by lexus/toyota. My main question is my manager said it might be possible to duplicate this by adding resistors, do you guys have any idea if possible, or do you know od a place to buy one, i have been searching for days without one single answer. Thanks alot,

Brandon

Sirens are fairly cheap-- resistors cheaper.

Why don't you put some resistors in series w/ a siren and come back and tell us what happens? I for one would be curious...

i tried that, and i didnt get anything close to what i wanted. I was really hoping that someone out there wanted this same thing from their siren... the guy from toyota(because lexus parts = more money) told me the factory siren on the newer toyotas is around 100...  no way im paying that much for a single tone siren

thanks

Brandon

I have a 2004 tacoma with the toyota security and I have the exact same low tone chirp.  what I did is found the siren and just had the new alarm power it.  it just has red and black wire on it, and it works great.

I had found the siren that was in the truck already, did not go bying one, and I am assuming that your car already has one.

i understand that u can hook one up to your existing toyota/lexus, but i have neither a toyotoa nor a lexus, thus the reason for wanted to know how to find one. I just thoiught that maybe someone on hear has had the same ambition if you call it and figured out if its possible with resistors, i couldnt get it myself, or if someone has one out of their toyota/lexus they dont want. Any help thanks guys

aye man its just a little piezo siren really small like the size of a half dollar but thicker about 1" you can get these anywhere cheap less than $10 for sure. The only problem is that its not that loud and i have no idea how to hook that up with your regular siren because it doesn't get too loud.

My 2004 Acura TL has a very similar tone chirp to the Lexus/Toyotas.  The RL has the tone chirp also.

I know that the newer cars us a control module to control the Sirens. German cars are very big into that. I had tryed once to use a BMW Alpine Siren, But my Tech showed me how they really work. And that the comfort module controls the siren and tones...

The thing is that i know Lexus/Toyota doesn't because its a siren about the size of DEI's newer sirens, just a little bit bigger, and on top of that it looks like its made out of a cheezy plastic. I went to toyota and aksed them how much the siren which has come standard on lexus for years now, and now comes on toyota, he told me that only lexus makes it, which is wrong, and he said a regular siren cost 120. I laughed at him, tried the junk yard and they INSIST that there are no sirens on the lexus's they have, even though i know there are. So im stuck, someone out there has to know how to buy one or make one ???
