I just installed a Panther alarm/starter on my 1991 Honda Accord. Everything seemed to work fine until I wired up the siren.  Now when I arm it I get the normal chirp, and when I open the door, the alarm sounds off, (very muffled though) and the lights flash. Then, when I disarm to shut the alarm off, the lights stop flashing, but the siren will continue to sound whenever a door is open. It will continue like this until I disconnect the siren.  Also, when the siren is going off it sounds terrible, like its about to die.  I checked the siren ground, and even tried to ground it somewhere else, and still the same thing.  This is a brand new system, and although its not the best brand, I suspect it must be my error. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dana

Slow down there turbo. First and foremost check the alarm's ground. The siren being muffled is a common symptom for a bad alarm ground.

Try a different siren.
