Super easy installation. The immobilizer system is the only thing that you have to worry about. Get the PKH3 for this vehicle for Immobilizer bypass and if it's a standard, then the clutch wire is the light blue on the clutch are ( next to the BLACK wire ) and the emergency brake wire can be accessed at the Immobilizer plug as well so no need to run a wire to the e-brake switch itself.

In the first page of your installation is a web site that will supply wire locations and colors. Use it.

Also try bulldog and designtech. 7thgencivic has stuff specifically related to that model, for instance location of neutral safety switch (which I've posted elsewhere on the board recently.

Defrost might be yellow/black on a 14 pin green connector behind the defrost switch-- check this first! My source is quite suspect. Let me know what you find.

I would strongly recommend that, instead of a generic solenoid, you use an accord trunk opener-- see this post. 4 guys in our shop own various civics. We destroyed 4 trunk releases (2 dei, 2 code-alarm) before we discovered this. (not entirely sure that trick still works in a 2004, but I'd guess it does-- as on that board...)

PKH3 or 555I work well for immobilizer bypass.

Make sure to hook up doorpin, or you won't be able to program that brain.

Solder all connections. Go slow, take your time, DMM every wire before connecting something to it. Don't expect to use this car for a week if this is your first install.

Ask questions! I install that brand for a living, and I own the same generation civic.

Don't use the hood pin that comes w/ it (or only use it temporarily) buy a decent pin switch such as one of these. The ones that come w/ it rust out at the drop of a hat.

Make sure that the brain you get says REV:02 or higher on the unit itself (by serial number). If not, take it back and get one that does. (Trust me on this-- shock sensors were shaky, the earlier revisions used a 3-wire starter kill, tended to go bad for no reason, all sorts of yucky stuff).

Oh yeah-- remember that you don't really have any sort of warranty if you do it yourself. Code will help you do the install, but you're on your own if you burn out the ECM.

It may seem crazy to spend almost as much (or more) to have it installed as it cost for the unit itself, but remember that the vast majority of what makes a good alarm system is how well it's put in your car...

My guess-- GREEN/ ORANGE / 1 sil dot, in a "harness running above diag. Plug under dash". Frankly, I don't know what a "diag. Plug" is-- I'm copying verbatim from my source.

I read the the warranty is good for the time that I own this vehicle and system?    If this is wrong than I may return it and buy a valet.

I am a ASE and VW Master Certified Technician so I think I can take it in a saturday, no?  How many relays will I need to hook up the 425 brain for defrost, door locks and trunk?

The installation took me about 1.5 - 2 hours and this was on a manual version but no trunk releasor rear defrost. No need for relays on the door locks as most remote starter systems give you a (-) output and the Honda uses the (-) as well. The defrost you will need a relay for and the trunk  release solenoid you will also need a relay for.

Has anyone tried the accord trunk release install on a 2004?   I dont think the '04 is much different than the '03 and that kit is alot better looking than the code one I got

Try asking that question (or better yet, searching) over on 7thgencivic-- your audience will be a lot more tailored to the question...

I see no factory alarm disarm wire on any list including that from velocity, so I am to assume that this civic has no factory alarm?  Any Ideas?posted_image

Reach up high in the driver's dash and pull down the GREEN plug off a wire loom. If you see it attached to a silver box, then you have OEM security. If it's not attached to anything, then you don't have OEM alarm.
