I recently got a used Crimestopper remote start system.  I'm trying to test it before installing it and I'm not gatting any signal on the starter wire after hiting the start buttons on the remote.  Should I get a constant 12v or just a burst?  Am I correct in thinking I can test it this way or does everything have to be hooked up for the system to work?

you should get a 1-2 second 12v pulse

You may not get start signal until you program tach.  Check if your getting light flashing code for no tach.

also check and make sure the wait to start wire is taped off. (might be labeled glow plug)

So I should probably go ahead and install it and hope it works?
