2000 Ford Focus has a cable door lock release. I'm trying to install actuators Has anyone ever done this,or did i buy the wrong Power door locking system ??? Help Mark

Use the end of the cable, that goes to the plunger.

Is the Plunger at the inside door handel were it locks and unlocks the door, do i remove it from the handel? how should i mount it? thanks Mark

Take the handle off. At teh very end of the cable the metal piece that clips on the plunger, use the metal end of the cable. You may have to modify the door lock part that conects the after market to the cable, what ever that part is called.

By doing this I can no longer lock or unlock the doors from the inside manually. Right Mark

There's another way to make it work, it may take a little more time. Unscrew the door latch assembly from the door there will be 3 torx screws holding the latch to the door. Once you've done this you can pull the latch out slightly towards you. You are going to see a brass colored lever where the cable connects. You will notice that the lever has a small hole, you can hook the actuator here, you will have to cut a little plastic for the rod to move freely. I've done several this way and I haven't had any problems yet.

Yuo can still lock and unlock the doors form indside as long as you conect the plunger back up.

secureauto, thank you  i thought i was screwed. and i wouldn't be able to connect the power door locks up. and without power locks y bother having a alarm. It took forever to get to the inside of the door and remove the seal, i have to do this to all 4. thank your a life saver Mark

FWIW, the alarm still works perfectly well even if it doesn't lock the doors-- and w/ a good 2-way system (and a parking spot that's not too far from where you work/hang out), I'm not sure I'd bother to lock the doors as long as the alarm was armed...
Granted, not everyone is in this situation...
