Hi, I just bought a new Civic LX without any add-ons and I wanted to add keyless entry and possibly an alarm. I was wondering if it is already set up for keyless and all I need to do is buy a remote or something? Maybe I can get an aftermarket keyless cheaper than the dealer?

Could someone please tell me if my car already has the keyless module installed being an LX model? And also does anyone know hoe to program the remotes...and is the programming permanent or can you change an already programmed one? Please respond if you know. Thanks.

The factory alarm plug is a green plug above the drivers kick panel. You can get an OEM one to plug right in or use an aftermarket unit and all the wires are right there in the plug. ------------- Jeff

no aftermarket versions plug into the OEM alarm plug. Hey LudeBoi, the Prelude does not have this harness. The OEM alarm is controled via the multiplex control unit by the passesnger kick panel.

You can choose any aftermarket module on the market that you want. A good place to get an alarm at a good price is eBay. Type in car alarm systems in the search and your off....
