Anyone in here skilled enough to transfer the circuitry from my aftermarket alarm fob into a slightly smaller factory keyless fob?? The circuitry would need to be slightly rearranged. I don't imagine it'd be a real hard task, let me know if you're interested.

The circuitry is usually on a printed circuit board that's cut to the shape of the fob. If it can be done, it'll require cutting that circuit board and the rehooking up whatever traces have been cut.

It's certainly doable, but it's not completely trivial.

I said all that just so that I wouldn't look completely unhelpful when I said,

I've taken both apart and it doesn't look like it'd be all that hard for someone used to working with small electronics. The only problem I see is the one I want put in the stock casing is 12V powered but the case only has room for a 3V coin cell battery?? And to answer your ? because I want to?? The deal is I have a 1988 VW GTI with a 2003 GTI Key.....now you see??

Yes I do. However, if the voltages aren't even the same-- I can't imagine anyway to get 12V out of a coin cell battery-- and even if you somehow finagle 4 cells in there, you'd still burn through them _awfully_ quick...

I'm sorry-- I'm just being negative here.

More power to you-- I hope you find a way to do that, and post pictures once you're done!
