Subject: DEI 555H bypass in a 99 Acura TL
Date Posted: December 13, 2004 at 10:28 PM

I'm trying to install a Crimestopper CS2011RS Series IV in a 1999 Acura TL 3.2 along with a DEI 555H imobilizer bypass. The problem I'm having is that none of the keys (including the valet)will "learn". In short: Got everything wired via the directions. Car WILL remote start with key in the cylinder. So with the test passed I installed the bypass. LED comes on. Remote start kicks in but the LED never goes out (the LED should shut off following a successful learn/program.) The vehicle starts fine with just the key. Won't start if I unplug the 555H harness (wiring good?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Use the key switch in the passenger door to test. *2 Located in a green 18-pin connector. *3 The passengers MUX module is located behind the glove box.    *4 In a 2-pin connector near the air intake on the drivers side shock tower.

not seeing 555H available, you might want to switch over to 555U and give up a spare key.

555H is applicable for 01-02

Actually, profuse007, that's not what you say here.

However, I think the chart is wrong-- the 555H's instructions also say 01-02.

Thanks for the replys

I just got off the phone with the store that recommended the 555H. All of a sudden they said it's hit or miss and that since that didn't work I should get a 555U or 556U posted_image. I was REALLY hoping to avoid leaving a key in there.

Another installer said that the keyless bypasses on the Acura's tend to have problems (could've been trying to sell me the 555U though.)

Hello, I also have a 99 TL.  I'm trying to find the trunk release (WHITE/ red wire)

Can someone please tell me how I can figure out which module is the MUX module?  I know the Mux module is located behind the glove compartment, but what is a mux module.  Thanks in advance.

some of the Honda bypass just wont learn the key... dont know why but i've seen it before... i always tell my customers that we'll try it with a H or I first, but if neccessary we'll have to use the 555U...... what i do is go to the the local key shop a block or so away from me and get them to code another key but not cut it... then i have a key to use in the 555U but the key could never actually start the car.....

why dont you guys just wire up a relay and use it saves you the trouble of bying those bypass modules and going through all those problems

i do it all the time never had aproblem  the customer has to give up a key but i usually just grind the key down and wire up a relay and just hook it up to one of ur output wire from the alarm and should work fine
