okay, 2000 Grand Cherokee, put in a remote start, everything works fine as far as remote starting goes.  The vehicle has the system that recognizes the driver by which key is inserted....seat position, radio memory, climate controls.  That stuff isn't working properly anymore.  It has buttons on the driver door for driver1 and driver2, which seem to be working, but the keys don't work.  My thinking is that while programming the 555c, the keys somehow got deleted from the memory.  Anyone else run into this problem?  I've done several Grand Cherokees around this year model, but its the first I've seen that had the key recognition stuff.  Thanks in advance.

The 555C isn't intended to retain any of the driver memory functions as this is not a OBDII interface module. If you want to retain driver 1 information you must use a JDL-PK that will retain all driver #1 memory settings as well as other interface options.

yeah, the vehicle uses the remotes to identify driver, not the key.

as Jeff said, JDL-PK will retain driver 1 when used.

Yeah, I figured out later on my own that it was the transmitter and not the key that activated the memory functions, as the customer had told me.  I just wired it so the factory transmitters could activate the remote start, now everyone's happy.  Thanks fellas.
