I need some help on a problem that I suspect I caused. I recently installed remote start and keyless entry in my 99 honda accord ex v6. I was attempting to find the power trunk release (which was supposed to be a WHITE/ red wire) and I realized I had a positive trigger release and the remote start was negative trigger. I wired the relay I needed and connected the relay output to the wrong wire under the dash (+12 volts). This wire was WHITE/ red and it was the only one I had seen and I tapped into it right there. I was never able to locate the correct wire under the dash, so I ran the wire to the wiring under the trim piece and the trunk release works. The problem is Cruise no longer works. Everything else in the car does. The speedometer works, gauges, lights etc. I have checked the fuses and all appears to be good. Is there any relays controlling the Cruise and if so where are they located. Any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.

Check your connection to the brake wire?

Did you install an anti-grind relay?

Try disconnecting the remote starter to see if the cruise works without it.

I had a vehicle that had an anti-grind relay causing the cruise not to work. It ended up being the relay. I cut it out and it worked again.

The brake wire connection is just another good thing to check since the cruise is connected. Make sure your brake lights work.

Thank You very much for the information. The brake wire appears to be funtioning correctly, it does in fact shut down the remote start when the brake is depressed when the remote start is active. Brake lights are working as well. My remote start is a rs-900 which has a selectable anti grind or negative ignition relay output. The car has a transponder security system in it and required the bypass kit to work. I will disconnect the remote start today and see if it has any effect. I will post a reply as soon as I try this. Thanks again for you help.

Well, the cruise control started to work off and on.. Strange thing, so I popped the hood and looked at the wiring and one of the wires going to the cruise was almost severed in half. Never seen anything like it, but I want to thank all of you for on the 12volt for helping me.
