Has anyone ever hooked up a DEI 555-L Passlock Interface Module? I am doing a remote start on a 2004 Impala and I just wanted to see how easy/hard it was to do and if there are any special things to know. The manual that came with the module is pretty straight forward, it seems... I cut the yellow resistance wire at the ignition switch, tap a wire to one side and a wire to the other side... another wire to the black wire at the ignition switch... another wire to the alarms armed (-)negative output and a wire to the ignition input and constant 12volts.

can anyone think of anything important regarding this mod? oh... btw, the alarm is a Harada 900 remote start, full alarm system. I have it all done but the remote start part, which I will do tomorrow.

Make sure you note the wire that the violet wire is only supposed to be (-) during crank. Don't just use a ground when running output...

Does it matter if it is (-) at all times? If it doesn't, I will just ground it and be done with it. Would that be the easier way? Any recommendations will be helpful...

Where is a good wire on the vehicle that is (-) during starting?

Good point kgerry... Blue/Black goes to negative armed out of the alarm; pink goes to the ignition; red to 12volts, black to paslock black wire, yellow to passlock yellow wire (on key side), and black yellow to passlock yellow (on car side)

thanks. post again if there is more to know.
