I have installed an Omega ComfortStart on an '05 F350 diesel..it does NOT have the PATS system...I learned the tach several times using the tach wire in the vehicle by the e-brake...starts fine if you let the truck warm up..but if its cold...it starts and shuts off after a few seconds...does this 3 times like its supposed too..and tachless mode doesn't work either...any ideas? has anyone done a ComfortStart in one of these? other than this "cold start" problem the system is great.any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you do anything with the wait to start, like a timer?

if there is a menu for that starter you should turn off engine checking

The GREEN / WHITE wire can be found high in the driver kick/driver underdash area.  Look for a large harness with a few loose wire taped to it.  The loose wire will have a heatshrink on the tips.  It seem that the newer models now reads a lower singal than in the past.  So you may have to use a tach booster.  There is also another place you can grab the tach.  That is gray@the PCM under the hood.  It is located next to the battery on the driver side.  Pull the battery termial and you should see module with three plug.

good luck!

you'll need a longer glow plug time. i did a 04 f550 and the glowplugs would stay on for 2-3 min. i had to pull the ipc apart and solder on to the actual bulb.

I had the same problem on an 05 f350 king ranch ! The only thing that worked was time ! I must have spent 20 hours collectivly and the guy was scheduled to come back to take it out and out of no where it just worked.
