I am having some problems with getting my door locks to work on my 1998 Ford F-150 (w/out factory keyless entry).  I searched all these forums and wired them up using the information that I found, but for some reason they still will not work.  I know I have the correct wires, because when I unhook the relays, the locks don't work from the door switch.  My alarm system is a Viper 791VX and I'm using Bosch 30A SPDT relays and I have them wired like this:

Relay 1:

30 - Side of cut lock wire that shows ground

85 - Alarm trigger (-)

86 - +12V (fused)

87 - +12V (fused)

87a - other side of cut lock wire (this wire shows +12V when the door switch lock button is depressed)

Relay 2:

30 - Side of cut unlock wire that shows ground

85 - Alarm trigger (-)

86 - +12V (fused)

87 - +12V (fused)

87a - other side of cut unlock wire (this wire shows +12V when the door switch unlock button is depressed)

The locks still function from the door switch, so I know the locks/actuators still work.  I also checked the voltage and ground of each connection so I know that the connections show what they are supposed to.  When I use the remote lock/unlock I can hear the relays switching, but the locks don't move at all.  I also tried just tapping the 85 terminal to ground thinking that maybe the pulses from the alarm system weren't long enough, but still I get nothing.  I'm not sure if this matters or not, but I originally had these fused at 30A and kept blowing the fuse if I tried to lock or unlock it too many times.  So then I figured maybe the locks pull more than 30A, which I thought was unlikely but anyways I went to a 40A fuse and haven't blown that one yet.  However, the locks still don't move unless I use the door switch.  I cut into the wires from the oval oblonged panel on top of the passenger side dash, if that matters.   Does anybody have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

-Adam

Well, according to that link:

https://www.designtech-intl.com/Content/techsupport/documents/section04/note203.pdf

it appears that I need to switch my 87a and 30 terminal connections.  I'll try that and let you know what happens.  If this fixes it, then let me apologize for the needless post.  I was just going off the info that I found in this other post:
