My alarm has hookups for a (+) and (-) door trigger, but I can only find the (-) on the car info. Do I need to hookup both wires? Will this affect the alarm?

no this is not needed just hook up the negative input , they give you the option of (+) & (-) trigger as some cars use positive door triggers . Just tape back the positive wire to the loom as it is not used.
