Ok, this is a noob question, but how do I install a diode? The place I will need one is for my door trigger. I'm handy with a dig. multimeter and soldering iron but never had a need for diodes.

Do you just cut the wire in two, then insert the diode's little wire into each end of the wire, solder and heat shrink it all up?

Anybody got any pictures as opposed to diagrams of how diodes are installed?

What are your trying to do here ? It depends on if your trying to block a (-) or a (+) current.  If your using this for door trigger on a Chevy then use this: Diodes

I'll need to diode isolate the door triggers on my 03 mazda b3000 pickup. I've seen the diagrams on this site before, but I just don't get how to actually wire them in.

this diagram is for a negative door triger if you are going to put on a possitive door triger use it the other way ..... go to diagrams on this page and then go to diodes

Ok, I see that. I've read all of the primers about diodes on this site.

My question is pertaining to the actual connection of the diodes. Do you just solder the tips of them to the end of wires or what? They are so thin it doesn't seem like that would be a strong connection. If I could just see some photos instead of just diagrams I would understand more.

Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why I couldn't come up with that using search.

So when I am diode isolating door triggers I just put the diode at the splice as shown in the diagram. Cool beans.
