Will a new 2004 ford explorer even try to start with out a bypass module..or will it crank then run and then shut off... I am installing a remote start and it will come on when I push the start button, but doesnt crank.... Was wondering if the bypass module was holding it back or maybe some sort of factory security thing... Any ideas???

It should crank but not start,Check your hoodpin switch, and you might have to program the tach setting on the remote starter first.

The truck will not crank if the security system does not recieve the proper code from the key or bypass module.  Just did one yesterday.

Where did you connect the tach wire?  Is your Explorer a V-8 or V-6?  Any problems with the remote start?

Here is my problem:  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=45797&PN=1&tpn=1
