I just got my hands on a DEI Viper 500+ with the wiring harness and all the hardware. However, I'm trying to find replacement transmitter remotes for this system, I found the part number for the aftermarket 4-button remote (485T) and I'm looking for the part number for the OEM 'stock' two-button remote..

Also, Is there any special way I need to 'assign' these remotes to work on my alarm? Special programmers or whatnot?

From DEI's transmitter cross reference page, the replacement remote depends on the date code on the brain, and is either the 493C or the 492T.

Just FYI (I don't know much about these old viper alarms, so I'm not saying a 485T is the wrong one).

I just checked that website, and the "date code" for my 500+ shows to be either 3I-5K (with the replacement remote being the 493C), or 5L-7E (with the remote being the 492T).

I checked the little "OK" sticker on my alarm 'brain', and it shows OK/7H. That's past the date code for the latter model, does it still use the same transmitter?

The replacement part # of 485T I got from the owner's/installation manual for that model online..I'm not 100% sure it's correct.
