Subject: broken 791xv satellite relay?

I am having trouble getting the remote start to work on my new viper 791xv. I connected the input wire to the starter side of the starter and the output wire to the ignition side of the starter wire. Then I double checked to make sure my neutral safety switch is grounded and that my hoodpin switch does not see ground when the hood is down. After I made all of my connections, my car wont start when I put the key in the igniton. The starter does not engage when I turn the key. I tried starting the car with the remote and that does not work too. I think my satellite relay is not working. Has anyone had this problem before? ------------- Thanks,
Andy

Yes I have had that happen before, make sure your relay pack is plugged in all the way to your igniton wires.

its a 1990 Ford Bronco I have not done the diagnostic procedures yet. I made sure the relay pack was plugged in all the way and still nothing happens. I cant even start the car. its like nothing connects the ignition wires inside the relay pack. ------------- Thanks,

From the relay double check that the purple goes to the starter side and green form key side. And use the pink as the MAIN igintion not the pink/white. Aslo does the other parts the alarm work work. arm/disram etc.

ya I made sure that the purple wire goes to the starter side and the green goes to the key side. I only have one ignition wire so I am only using the pink wire and not the pink/white. Yes everything else on the alarm works. it arms/disarms, lights flash, siren works, etc. The only thing that does not work is the Remote Start.
------------- Thanks,
Andy

Check for voltage on the relay pack ingition as you try to RS it. Are both power wires hook on on the relay pack. Wehn you try an RS does any of your gages come on, lie when you put your key in and treun it on to ignition. Also what doe sthe shut down diagnostic say.

nothing happens when I press the star button on the remote twice. I have my remote programed for the default settings. Its like the brain does not recieve the signal from the remote when i press the button to RS the car. but i could not even turn the car on with the key.
------------- Thanks,
Andy

You say " you could not even trun the car on with the key'
you cant start the car with the key, am i reading you right on that.
If you can start you car with the key and all gages coem on. Doulbe check programing and make sure it set to 2 pulse or waht ever you want. Also try the "remote start activeation input wire"

If you cant start the car with the key you have probelem eles were. Hook back up your starter wire, togeter and see if your car starts. Aslo make sure you have a good GROUND form your alarm.

ALSO.. make sure that if there are no power locks that you accidentially didnt hit lock. if you hit lock.. that actibvates the starter kill and you will not be able to turn the engine with the key.. IF indeed ur relay pack is dead.. just cut it off and get a bunch of relays... all those ribbon cable wires are just negative triggers for the relays..

I had to connect the two ends of the starter wire back together so that I could drive to work. Today I will try connecting the green and purple wires again. I will check my diagnostics and double check all of my connections. Everyone thank you so much for you help. I will let you know if i still have problems. ------------- Thanks,
Andy
