Bypass.com has a vwdl that will interface with the doorlocks, alarm and parking lights. They are out of stock right now but in about 2 weeks they will be back in. Transponder we use 556u from dei

Interestingly enoucg.... VWDL probably will not work too well on most VW's newer than 2001. Unless it can magically access the driver's door module somewhere on the CAN bus... but you never know. You will be pulling into each door to get your doorpins anyways (brown with white stripe in harness that runs to the latch), so, as you are heading into the driver's door, might as well pull the door lock wires, trunk release, and another for the fuel door(if you're so inclined.... possibly a useless feature, but nice cool factor)

The wires are yellow/blue, and GREEN/ red, same place you are going to be getting the doorpin wire. Test by using the key in the door. Trunk in BROWN / green at the lockout switch.

Gus
PS: And, oddly enough, I happen to be doing a 160XV in a 2002 TDI Jetta right at this very moment.... wierd

you can go into the drivers door to get your lock and unlock and if I am not mistaken it arms and disarms with lock and unlock. Its not that difficult to get the door off and get wires in there. Try that.

Yes, it should work on VW's up to late 2001 or so. The newer cars don't use the K-Line for as much stuff, they switched to CAN network control of the various modules in the car, including the door modules (less wire, faster communication). I really don't see it working on the newer ones all that well. I ordered one to ginueapig on my 04 Jetta just for fun, hasn't shown up yet, but getting three wires into the door on a Jetta/Golf/Beetle is waaaayyy easier than a newer Accord, Pilot, etc. You're pulling for doorpins anyways (they aren't available anywhere else but in the door.... using the domelight feed wreaks havoc)
