Hello,

I’ve just picked up Prostart CT 3300; I manage to install everything except for Door Locks and Trunk release. I've not been able to make it work. The starter has (-) negative output for Door Lock/Unlock and Trunk Release. The car 95 Lincoln Continental require (+) to lock and unlock and trunk requires (-) trigger.

I’ve determine this, when I apply +12V to the door lock wire, doors lock and likewise when I apply +12v to unlock wire doors unlock.

By reading on this site, I determine that I need that I need 2 relays to Convert a Negative Output from starter to a Positive Output to the door lock/unlock wire and the trunk should be direct of the remote starter module.

I've connected the both door lock and unlock as follows,

Terminal 86 and 30 of the relay to +12 V

Terminal 87 to the Door lock wire

Terminal 85 to the starter’s door lock wire.

The problem I found is that starter output has constant negative, what I mean by this is as soon as I connect to 85 terminal it locks the doors and then the lock and unlock button of the remote has no effect, however when I press the lock or unlock button parking lights flash.

Can anyone help why is there a constant negative on the output it should be '0' and the negative pulse when door lock button is pressed.

Thanks in advance.

G

To wire the locks

     On a relay   pin 86 & 87 +12 volt constant

pin 85 to the lock (unlock) wire from rs (green or brown)

pin 30 to the lock (unlock) in car.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for reply, much appreciated.

I've just tried your setup as above and the results were same.  I connect 86, 87 to  +12v, 30 OEM lock wire and  as soon as I connected the brown (lock) wire to 85  doors locked and there after I was not able to unlock  them  with unlock button on the remote or with the factory unlock switch until removed the  connection from 85. I believe there is something worng with the RS but I'm not sure and I don't know how verify the status.

This information is for a 95 Continental.

Lock = Pink / YELLOW  Unlock = Pink/lightgreen   passengers kick panel

 pin  86 & 87+12volt constant

pin 87A  switch side of lock (unlock) wire

Pin 30 motor side of lock (unlock) wire

Pin 85 lock (unlock) from R/S (GREEN/ brown)

You must cut the wires into (lock/unlock) from car.

Craig ( dont know what happened in the last post)  Sorry...

gbedi :

Did you ever get the 'anti-grind' feature of the starter to work? This will disable the key starter when the engine is already running, thus no grinding of the starter on the running flywheel.

I bought the CT-3300 as well at CTC and am installing it in 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, got the starter to start the truck no problems, but now I still grind the starter, so I have to disable that somehow.

Thanks for any info..

Canadian tire sell an invertor for about $5 that plugs into the back of the unit and converts the - pulse to + without using relays .You can also use it on other models  and cut the plug and wire the lock and unlock wires to the invertor  and power up the red wire . Works well and eliminates relays

Hi Craig,

Yes, they are working now and the trunk unlock as well, after troubleshooting we determined that the control module was defective. It was sending the small amount of voltage, when it should at 0v or floating. I've replaced the unit  and everything appears to be working fine.

Thansk  for you help.
