I recently installed a cs2001fc in my OLD Z car, I thought that the install went reasonably but, once I was done, the alarm didn't get power (LED isn't lit, no chirps, remote does nothing) Being an extreme rookie at installing alarms, I stopped and made sure the car still ran (it did!)  So I took the car to work and when I turned the car off and left the lights on, the siren chirpped, the LED was flashing and, the remote activated the alarm. When I turned the lights off, it kills power to the alarm. There are 3 wires that go from the alarm to or near the back of the light switch.

1. +12v flashing parking light output (Connect to switched parking light wire at the back of the light switch. European vehicles require seperate right and left circuits. Use a dual relay or 2 diodes to seperate the output signal.) I have this wire spliced into the back of the light switch.

2. starter kill/negative armed, I have this tied into the back of the ignition switch harness, then through a relay that's tied into the starter etc.

3. ignition switched "on" and "start"  +12v, I have this wire tied into the same place as the starter kill.

First I thought that I had crossed some wires routing them through/under the dash but when I switch the light flash and ign/start wire the alarm won't work lights or no lights

Does anyone see the boneheaded mistake that I'm making??

Do flashing parking lights require a relay or do you wire them up as I have above!!

Check your main power wire and make sure its going to 12v constant

I checked the fusible/hot wire that's hooked up to the battery, it gets 12.0v. One thing that's strange is that even if I pull the fuse from the hot wire, the alarm still has power with the lights on!! I'm thinking the +12v flashing parking light output is somehow supplying power to the alarm when the lights are on. For what it's worth I checked ground and it's fine.

Just for giggles I hooked up the +12v flashing parking light output to a constant +12v supply and disconnected the +12v wire going to the battery, the alarm seems to function except for the parking lights. Is it possible that the wiring diagram is wrong??
