Thanks for the tip!

I have a question for you. I currently have a separate alarm and remote start units in my car.

Should I remove (un-wire) them completly first or can I solder the current wires to my new combo's bundle?

if I were you, I would do a fresh install, it is the safest and most reliable thing to do.

I would definitely take the T-taps out of the car, they tend to fail.  I would also pull all the modules and wires from the old units out and start fresh.  This ensures you will properly connect each wire to the appropriate destination and you can also make the install a lot prettier.

What did I do wrong?

One problem.

It has been really cold around here lately, 5-15 degrees.
When I wake up in the morning to remote start my car it doesn't work. I got to the car and saw the dash and everything on but no engine running. Then i turned the key and it started up.

I have only experienced this only on cold overnights.

Is there something I forgot to do or something I can adjust?

thank you
bryan

Do the Autopage RS-855 reset procedure on page 29 of the install manual "Return to factory default setting"

Reprogram the unit back to your original options and . You need to tell it what mode you are on first: voltage/tach/timer sensing and then program accordingly. relearn the tach setting.. I would try the voltage setting and see if the unit is even good to begin with.. If it forgets tach settings then you might have a different issue here.

Does the unit remote start at all ? If it does not start after a cold night, does it remote start later during the day ? What do you have working so far ? I have 2 of these units installed for myself, working flawlessly.. an RS-850 and an RS-855

Yes it does work all the time (expect for those cold mornings). Usually If i shut it down remotely, then try to remote the second or third time it will start the engine up.

Do you have all the ignition wires hooked up ? Does this car have a second starter wire for cold circuit ? I know some toyota's and nissan's have them for cold start. What is the other alarm unit you have in there ? Turn off tach sensing and switch over to voltage sensing and see if that does anything.at least you will know if the brain is working..
